Support the Marathon: Computers for African Schools

Our team is organizing the international online marathon, "A Computer Class for Every School in Africa," on November 20, 2024, with an 18-hour livestream. We invite you to support this initiative and help make it a meaningful step toward closing the digital divide in Africa.

Africa is facing a serious educational crisis: approximately 450,000 schools and about 250 million children do not have access to basic resources such as electricity, computers, and the internet. This digital divide not only deprives them of the chance for a better future but also exacerbates socio-economic issues.

The event coincides with important historical milestones: the 100th anniversary of the Geneva Declaration of the Rights of the Child, the 70th anniversary of Universal Children's Day, the 35th anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, and Africa Industrialization Day. We aim to make this marathon a significant international event.

While much of the organizational work is being done pro bono by volunteers, there are still necessary costs that need to be covered. This includes renting studios, paying contractors who will help organize the broadcast, directors, video production, and coordination of the live stream. The minimum cost to organize the marathon is approximately $50,000. If savings are achieved, any remaining funds will go directly toward the core mission of the project — providing computer classes for schools in Africa.
