Preserve Those Who Shaped History Without Making Headlines

History isn’t shaped by the famous alone. Across every town and generation, individuals have made lasting contributions to their communities — yet their stories remain untold, as existing biographical platforms focus only on globally recognized names.

Hidden Histories

A project of the Global Alliance for ICT and Development , it seeks to bridge not only the digital divide — but also the divide in collective memory. We tell the stories of those omitted from encyclopedias and global media, yet whose work shaped lives, communities, and cultures around the world.

In partnership with the World Biographical Encyclopedia, we digitize and preserve the legacies of individuals  excluded from the historical record — mayors, teachers, artists, architects, spiritual leaders, and business leaders. These individuals helped shape cities, towns, and rural communities, yet over time, their contributions have faded from our shared memory.

What We've Achieved

Hundreds of historical books have been transformed into over one million accessible biographies. With your support, we can digitize much more — unlocking life stories buried in forgotten pages.

We uncover hidden stories from rare, overlooked sources and transform them into rich digital biographies.

Bringing Human Histories to Life

By narrowing the gap between world-famous figures and local leaders, between powerful nations and smaller countries, between dominant cultures and minority faiths, we help create a fuller, more inclusive record of human history.

In Books Worldwide

Scholars and authors across disciplines reference our digitized records in their research and publications. Below are just a few examples.

From Subscription to a Fully Open Platform

Until now, our biographical profiles were available only to subscribers — libraries, institutions, and individuals.

Now, that changes. The platform is fully open.

To everyone, everywhere.

We Welcome Historical and Biographical Materials

Do you have old Who’s Who directories, biographical dictionaries, alumni registers, church bulletins, mexmorial programs, town chronicles, or professional association publications? We invite you to share them with us.

Our team will scan, preserve, and digitize these valuable records — enriching them with new content and making them accessible to all, for generations to come.
