In the era of rapid technological advancement, artificial intelligence (AI) stands out as one of the most transformative forces shaping our world. From revolutionizing industries to redefining social norms and behaviors, the potential of AI is immense. Yet, it comes with multiple complex challenges and ethical considerations that demand collaborative action on a global scale.
Recognizing the imperative for international cooperation to navigate AI governance, we propose the establishment of a new international regulatory body. Drawing inspiration from existing models for addressing global challenges, such as climate change and nuclear proliferation, we underscore the importance of collaboration between governments, international organizations, and the private sector in addressing the multifaceted challenges posed by AI. It is only through proactive and inclusive governance that we can harness the transformative potential of AI while safeguarding against its unintended consequences.
